BIOGRAPHY

Massimiliano Gaudio musician, guitar player, music producer, author, has cooperated with artists both at national and international level, he has arranged music for movies and documentaries and commercials. He was born in Caserta, Italy, in 1973. He has been breathing art ever since he was a child: at the age of eleven he starts playing the guitar, his father Sergio is a guitar player and a composer, his mother Rosa Arbolino is a painter and a choreographer, two of his uncles are very good guitar players. He plays in several bands coming form different musical background. Music for Massimiliano has no borders!

He cooperate with Franco Del Prete (Napoli Centrale, the Showman) from 2002 to 2008 by playing with his guitars, bouzouky and choir group (Sud Express) and by writing together with him and some other authors important songs belonging to the “L’Ultimo Apache CD” (Rai Trade).

He participates as a guitar player in important singing contests, such as, among others, Premio Bianca d’Aponte (Caserta), Limatola Festival (Benevento), Botteghe d’Autore (Salerno), Emergenza Rock (Roma), Royal Rock Festival (Caserta) etc.

In 2012 he plays classic and acoustic guitar at the “Epifania Concert” (Rai 1) with the Santa Cecilia Orchestra directed by master Renato Serio, accompanying artists such as Nick and the Nightfly, Teresa Salgueiro (Madredeus), Lura, etc.

In 1997 he has been part of the staff of Sergio Tomassone from Bologna (Best luthier and guitar shop in Italy).

Massimiliano’s education in the music field has always been inspired to the greatest guitar’s myths such as David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Mark Knopfler, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Al Di Meola etc.

But above all he has been influenced by the constant listening to greatest artists such as Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Wyclef Jean, Seal, Ben Harper etc. as well as to Musics from the World (Africa, India etc.) and by electronic music.

He works as an author and guitar player in cooperation with Dj Pippi in the following pieces:

- Sunset over escodolar (A TOUCH OF CLASS 1 – Aluminium Records)

- A touch (A TOUCH OF CLASS 2 – Aluminium Records). The same piece, with the same label, is included in the Las Tardes en Ibiza vol. 3 CD

Between 2009 and 2010 he creates the music for the commercial of Magnaghi, worldwide leader in the construction of airplane elements as well as the soundtrack of the short film “LA DOMITIANA where there is no street there is no civilization” and “ARAPHA The girl with white eyes” directed by Romano Montesarchio (Both works have been purchased and distributed by RAI 3, BBC and other broadcasting stations around the world).

In 2013 he composed the music of the film Ritratti Abusivi distributed by Rai Cinema and Minerva Pictures,

Furthermore he works as an author of music in cooperation with Nini’ Giacomelli, poetess and author of texts for Luis Bacalov, Cahrles Aznavour, Gianni Morandi, Ornella Vanoni, Sergio Cammariere, Peppe Voltarelli etc and he has taken an important part to prestigious music events such as Premio Tenco, Shamano and Showman Festival of humorous and author music.

He has been playing classic, electric, acoustic guitar and other instruments for over thirty years. He works as a “session man” guitar player in recording industry and television field as well as live.

Massimiliano Gaudio musicista, chitarrista, produttore musicale, arrangiatore, autore ha collaborato con artisti italiani ed internazionali, ha realizzato musiche per film documentari e spot pubblicitari. Nato in Italia a Caserta nel 1973. Respira fin da bambino aria di arte, a undici anni imbraccia per la prima volta la chitarra, suo padre Sergio è chitarrista e compositore, sua madre Rosa Arbolino è pittrice e coreografa, due dei suoi zii sono validissimi chitarristi. Suona in numerose Band di diversa estrazione musicale, la musica per Massimiliano non ha confini!

Collabora con Franco del Prete (Napoli Centrale, The Showmen) dal 2002 al 2008 suona nel suo gruppo (Sud Express) chitarre, bouzouky e cori, firma con lui ed altri autori alcuni pregevoli brani del cd L’ultimo Apache (Rai Trade).

Pertecipa come chitarrista a diversi importanti premi canori tra i quali: Premio Bianca d’Aponte (Ce), Limatola Festival (Bn), Botteghe d’Autore (Sa) Emergenza Rock (Rm) Royal Rock Festival (Ce) ecc.

Nel 2012 suona chitarra classica e acustica al Concerto dell’Epifania (Rai 1) con l’orchestra di Santa Cecilia diretta dal Maestro Renato Serio accompagnando artisti come: Nick The Nightfly, Teresa Salgueiro (Madredeus) , Lura, ecc

Nel 1997 ha fatto parte dello staff di Sergio Tomassone di Bologna (best luthier and guitar shop in Italy)

La formazione musicale di Massimiliano è da sempre legata ai grandi miti della chitarra quali David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Caros Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Mark Knopfler, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Al Di Meola ecc.

ma è stata soprattutto influenzata dall'ascolto di grandi artisti come Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Wyclef Jean, Seal, Ben Harper ecc.. e le Musiche del Mondo (Africa, India, ecc) o dalla musica elettronica.

Tra il 2009 e il 2010 realizza le musiche per il promo aziendale della Magnaghi leader mondiale di componenti per aerei e la colonna sonora dei filmdocumentari LA DOMITIANA dove non c’è strada non c’è civilta’ e ARAPHA la ragazza dagli occhi bianchi del regista Romano Montesarchio (entrambi i lavori sono stati acquistati e diffusi da RAI 3, BBC ed altre emittenti televisive nel mondo).

nel 2013 realizza le musiche del film Ritratti Abusivi distribuito da Rai Cinema e Minerva Pictures.

Collabora inoltre come autore di musiche con Ninì Giacomelli poetessa e autrice di testi per Luis Bacalov, Charles Aznavur, Gianni Morandi, Ornella Vanoni, Sergio Cammariere, Peppe Voltarelli ecc. e colonna portante di importantissime manifestazioni musicali come il Premio Tenco e Dallo Shamano allo Showman festival della canzone umoristica e d’autore.

Da più di 30 anni suona la chitarra elettrica, classica ed acustica ed altri strumenti a corda. Esercita la professione di chitarrista in qualità di “session-man” in ambito discografico, televisivo e live.
